Full Description
I am a freelance journalist and contract editor, with a range of skills including print pre-production and print buying, video editing and advanced WordPress website experience.
With a distant background in radio broadcasting – I do the occasional voice over in my home studio using Adobe Audition as well as a weekly podcast.
However, my main work involves finding stories, interviewing people and writing crisp, clean copy that sub editors are always pleased to see. I write for the New Zealand Herald [employment], NZ Business [business] and contract edit NZ Investor magazine [investment].
The key areas I cover are employment, business, security, investment, digital technology and finance.
Whether you need a story written or a whole publication taken from concept to delivery, my extensive experience in print production and people management can get the job done – on time, to a high standard and within the agreed budget.
Video
I have produced a number of doco-type videos, such as a history of the Victoria Theatre in Devonport, Auckland. This 30 minute video got a screening (or two) on the Arts Channel (Sky TV).
I have also edited a few corporate videos – see my video work here – working with an excellent and highly professional (ex-Hollywood) camera operator.
Broadcasting
I was a news journalist at BBC Essex in the UK, worked at Essex FM, the region’s commercial station, spent 8 years as a volunter show host at Thameside (hospital) Radio, hosted the breakfast show at Radio Basildon and had fun doing a daily show at Radio Top Shop.
I do the occasional Podcast interviews and voice overs.
